Mizuno Hatchet Warikomi 70mm w/Cover

Small enough to slip into a pack and capable enough for real work, the 80mm is a hatchet for people who like to travel light. It’s made by Mizuno Seisakujo, who began by forging plane blades for Japanese carpenters in 1937 and have since become one of Sanjo’s most respected axe makers.

The 80mm edge makes it easy to control. It suits kindling, campsite jobs, and carving, where precision matters more than brute force. The warikomi construction pairs a hard carbon steel edge with a softer iron body, so it holds a sharp edge and still shrugs off the knocks of outdoor use.

The head is mounted on a curved oak handle and comes with a leather sheath. As with any carbon steel tool, keep it dry and lightly oiled and it will look after you for years.
