Matsubara Hamono Knives

Matsubara Hamono Knives

Matsubara knives originate from a small factory in Nagasaki and the business is headed by Tanaka Kama Kogyo. The story of Matsubara Hamono is about as fascinating as is gets. He is a 4th generation blacksmith, and has been making knives for over 20 years. The history of Matsubara blades can be traced back to the Battle of Dan-no-ura of 1185. The supply of Matsubara is highly limited due to the small family-run nature of the workshop, with the father and son team employing only a handful of others to supply worldwide demand of their incredible knives.
